Robin Gibb awakens from a coma - he defeated the cancer?



 The doctor of the Bee Gees singer confirmed that Gibb was suffering from colorectal cancer in advanced stage of pneumonia.

Good and bad news for fans of Robin Gibb: is The Bee Gees singer awakes from a coma, but suffers from colon cancer at an advanced stage. This was announced by his doctor Andrew Thillainayagam on Sunday. Thillainayagam confirmed that the 62-year-old was weakened by two surgeries and chemotherapy, pneumonia and had fallen into a coma after that. Reports were also on the 14th in the British media April appeared.


Three days before he had told the family of the singer that Gibb would not regain consciousness, perhaps more, said Thillainayagam. Now he is talking about is fully conscious and able. Gibb was "exhausted, extremely weak and malnourished," said the doctor. The singer continues to lie in the ICU. His breathing will be supported with an oxygen mask, he also receive intravenous antibiotics and food.
"It is a testimony of Robin's extraordinary courage, iron will and physical strength that he almost against all probability there was, where he is now," it said in the statement of the physician.

Gibb respond back to his family, his spokesman said on Sunday in London. His wife, Dwina, and their son Robin-John, his son Spencer and daughter Melissa from her first marriage had last been with him every day. "You have spoken with him and played his favorite music," the doctor reported on. "They have been tireless in their determination not to abandon him." His wife Dwina had been reported, Gibb was crying when she played the song "Crying" by Roy Orbison.

Gibb had been sick for months and therefore had to cancel several public appearances. Around 18 months he had undergone surgery because of another disease of the intestine. Here the doctors found a tumor. The cancer was discovered later in the liver. Earlier this year it had initially looked like as if Gibb defeated the cancer. Pictures of his drawn and emaciated bodies had shocked the fans, however. There were reports that another tumor was found.

He had transmitted them to his website to be seriously ill, but initially given no details. The British-born brothers Robin, Barry and Maurice as the Bee Gees celebrated worldwide success with hits such as "How Deep is Your Love" and "Stayin 'Alive". Robin Gibb and his son Robin-John Gibb post for the 100thAnniversary of the sinking of "Titanic," the classic book "Titanic's Requiem".

Gibbs, twin brother and bandmate Maurice died of the intestinal disease, which led to the first operation of Robin. His brother Andy died in 1988 at the age of 30 years of heart problems.

Robin is the second of five children. Robin and Maurice had founded in the early '60s with his brother Barry (65) the successful Bee Gees trio formed their unique disco sound.
